Here’s the thing I don’t understand about Yahtzee. It’s really just a game of percentages, right. It’s like the most boring game ever for a statistician (which is why I love it). So why does a Yahtzee count for more points than the large straight or even the full house. All of them require each die to land on a specific number. I mean, any individual die has a one-in-six chance of landing on a particular number regardless of what the other die around it are doing. Right? Or have I misremembered something from my stats classes?
I don’t think so. As of right now I’m revising all my past scores and hacking into my handheld to adjust the scoring correctly.
